Non-Executive Director Service

We do things a little differently at the MDHUB.

Members of the MDHUB team act as a non-executive directors (rather than a share holding non-exec). We provide either half a day or a day a month (face to face) over a 12 month period of non-exec support on a range of services including attendance at and chairing of monthly board meetings, additional business support and coaching for board directors.

What is a traditional NED:

A Non-Executive Director (NED) is a member of a company's board of directors who does not have day-to-day involvement in the management or operations of the company. Non-executive directors are considered independent and bring an external perspective to the board.

Non-executive directors play a crucial role in corporate governance, ensuring that companies are well-managed and operate in the best interests of their shareholders and stakeholders. They contribute to the development and implementation of the company's strategy, monitor its performance, and help in maintaining effective communication between the board and management.

What our members have to say about the benefits of our non-exec director service:

“Phil Green brings an important level of scrutiny, objectivity and professionalism to the business, particularly in key decisions. His breadth and depth of experience means he brings many pearls of wisdom which you ignore at your peril. He’s also been important in ensuring the Board focuses on the right priorities and avoid distractions of which there are often many! He has played a vital advisory role to the company as we’ve grown the business rapidly from £2m-£10m+ to become one of the top tier environmental businesses operating in the UK. He can do strategy in his sleep but more importantly he is a great facilitator, gets results and makes it fun.”

“Fiona Shafer’s great strength is the breadth of her experience in a wide variety of business sectors, allowing her to cross-fertilise best practice and innovative approaches that help us to better recognise and solve problems and move the business forward. Having her on the outside looking in brings a completely different dimension to our planning and strategy, helping us to separate the emotional side of decision making and focus on the needs of the business and the team as a whole, leaving behind historical baggage to focus on the future.”
