Tamara Roberts  – CEO of Ridgeview Wine Estate

Tamara is CEO of Ridgeview Wine Estate and a former winner of our MDHUB CEO of the Year and Sussex Business person of the year in 2019.

Ridgeview had very high expectations for 2020 and a lot to rightly look forward to in the months ahead: Tamara had been appointed  to  the highly prestigious position of President of the International Wines and Spirits Competition – being the first English wine producer to awarded this accolade and Ridgeview were also celebrating their 25th Anniversary.

All a great testament to the incredibly hard work and vision of Tamara and her family.

The unpredictable nature of being a wine grower in England due our climate in particular is something that we have seen Tamara and her team manage skilfully and patiently manage to produce world class sparkling wines. All traits which have stood her in very good stead for what lay ahead.

One of the very best traits that Tamara possesses as a Leader is that no matter what is happening around her – wind, thunderstorms, floods ,frost and a pandemic ( sometimes all at the same time ) that went  on to shut down the hospitality sector for many, many months – Tamara is always thinking creatively about the longer term sustainability – in the very truest and broadest sense – for Ridgeview .

A great strategist, Tamara has invested strongly in the recruitment and development of her management team and a key part of this has been the appointment of her General Manager Matt Gayler during the past 2 years – releasing Tamara to work less on the operational side of the business and focus on the future.

Ridgeview is committed to 3 pillars of sustainable practice – people, the environment and economics. The business is audited against industry benchmarks and have invested in initiatives such as waste treatment, Bio – bubble, cover crop bio diversity and solar power.

They promote a Green Travel Plan to all of their team, customers and suppliers and hope to become B Corp Accredited later in 2021.

Tamara’s extraordinary tenacity and ability not to worry about things that she really can’t control has enables her to continue steering Ridgeview through this time to some very, very exciting plans for the next few years.
