Simon Brookes – BOX HARRY

Simon is MD of BOX HARRY and  has led his digital development agency based in Brighton that builds websites and web applications for the best part of 20 years.

Simon’s top skill is that he’s a problem solver, and likes nothing better than getting stuck into something other people have found difficult.

As MDHUB Facilitator Kerry has commented:

Simon is super clever, creative, talented, humble and with a brilliantly dry sense of humour, Simon is always willing to share his knowledge & experience with his regular workgroups, and is highly respected and liked by his peers.

When invited to comment, boy can Simon comment, he has strong opinions but communicated in such a way, he’ll capture the attention of the group, and they do listen!! 

But whilst he has the licence to talk there will be lots of laughs coupled with some very serious moments always resulting in a lot of questions. 

He’s not afraid to compete with other Tech peers and does so in a respectful manner. 

He is a non-conformist and when challenged on business processes & principles, “he’s often too laid back and prefers to run his business on a whim, so he says!!”

Yet in an email last week, he said he was knee deep in due diligence docs for Box Harry, so I would question his external persona!!

He very much plays down his leadership skills, I imagine because it’s not what floats his boat. 

That all said, sometimes he’ll prove us wrong on the way in which we should run our businesses! And always a lot to be learnt from this man. 

Simon would hate it if we praised him for his talent, honesty, truth, directness, humour, and humble personality. He is a Managing Director to look up to, to like working with and to enjoy his humour and constructive use of the English language. 

Box Harry is doing remarkably well at the minute, despite an MD set on defying the norm!
