Unfortunately Pete was unable to join us at Hubbub2023, but his colleagues Ronni Patel and Kristian Abrahamsen from ROCC were there to accept the awards and say a few words on Pete’s behalf.
There is a legacy of the team at ROCC working with the MDHUB. Luke Aldrich the current Chairman of ROCC ( formerly Rediffusion old computer company in Crawley ) is a long term member and a former recipient of the award for The Driest Sense of Humour outside the Atacama desert . As Luke stepped back into his Chairing role, Peter has stepped up into representing ROCC on the MDHUB Workgroups and we are delighted to have worked with Peter on a key strategic and transformative project over the past 2 years.
As Helen has commented: “One of Pete’s latest transformative business ideas has seen him invite his clients into the heart of the business and engage them in the future strategy and guiding the development of their leading edge software for the housing industry.”
ROCC are at the forefront of housing technology solutions developed specifically for local authority and housing association teams, They are an organsiation who have been one of the early adopters of very strong social values in their culture
So why is Peter an Alchemist ?
This is how Rob describes Pete:
Pete is the kind of leader that every business would be willing to do dastardly deeds to have on their side.
If there was ever an award for Magician of the year award – it should go to Peter – Alchemist is the closest we could come up with – but what Peter does isn’t just a trick – it’s a magicial blend of care, clarity, tech knowledge, business savvy and a good dollop of not taking himself too seriously that makes him the brilliant leader that he is.
There’s not a scenario where Peter can’t turn what initially looks like lead into gold. He’ll see opportunity where most see disaster and he not only sees it but delivers it on a platter.
Better still – he does it with such humility that you may not even know he was responsible.
He also knows how and when to ask for help and is always happy to offer advice and a helping hand to fellow members.
Well Done Pete!
