Tell us about you:
I'm a recycled Bank Manager who has learned new tricks I guess and put them to good use. I have had some fantastic opportunities to work in environments where there have been great people trying to do amazing things in business and hopefully picked up a unique set of skills and knowledge as a result. I'm also an artist/sculptor meaning I have made and sold pieces to someone other than my mum. That probably makes me a listener and a builder... innovative solution finder... modest to a fault..
The beginning - your ‘eureka’ moment:
Change of career.
The best and the worst of times:
Best... when someone tells you that you helped them. Worst... when you can't help.
What gets you out of bed in the morning - what motivates you?
Luck or skill - what gets your further?
Someone who risks 'resource' (time, money, passion?) for a return having identified an opportunity that needs filling.
Moving on up - your ambitions and the next big thing:
I'm working on a series of models of horses at the moment. I want to get back to sculpting heads, human kind, and eventually get something into the Royal Societies summer exhibition.
Your top tips:
Deeply understand what you're trying to do. Communicate clearly. Make sure everyone who delivers or receives value is involved and appreciated. Know when to stop. Build, Measure, Learn... always validate, Delegate don't Abdicate, make someone laugh every day.
What others say about you and your business:
No idea...obviously fantastic!
