Trustees needed for Wave Leisure
Wave Leisure Trust Ltd. (Wave) was formed in 2006 as a registered charitable company limited by guarantee to manage a diverse range of leisure facilities with an annual turnover of £4.4m, a staff team of 230 servicing in excess of 1 million customer visits per year (50% from children and young people).
Wave has had one fundamental and driving purpose of “inspiring active lifestyles” and is committed to the vision of being “at the heart of an improvement in health and wellbeing within the community”.
In order to maintain a full complement of Trustees we’re seeking to recruit three new members to join our nine-strong governing Board.
We need people who can help direct Wave towards achieving its Vision and ensure that the charity is governed effectively. Ideally, the new trustees will have the skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Entrepreneurial development and business innovation at a strategic level.
- Corporate finance including Treasury Management, Management Accounts, Cash Management/Investment and Pensions.
- Public Health with an established network in and around Physical Activity.
We are particularly keen to achieve a diverse board of trustees and as such we welcome applications from all sections of the community.
We will provide a full and comprehensive induction to Wave and to the roles and responsibilities of Trustees.
You will be expected to attend the quarterly evening board meetings and at least one sub group meeting (monthly) and an annual strategy review meeting.
Please download the Expression of Interest pack from Wave’s website (www.waveleisure.co.uk) or, for an informal discussion about the role of trustee, contact the Chief Executive, Duncan Kerr, on 01323 493020.
The closing date for applications is 30th April 2015.
