The MDHUB in partnership with the University of Chichester offers you the opportunity to participate in this hot topic debate.

This is part of your MDHUB membership and is run alongside the University of Chichester’s Knowledge Network.

The MDHUB Opinion Debates both stimulate and challenge and this one is no exception.
Social media is at the front of most marketing activity and key to a lot of people’s personal lives.
This opinion debate looks set to be one of the most exciting yet as social media constantly barrages our daily life.

Can we live without it? Can we live with it?

The Opinion Debate will be taking place on Wednesday 29 October 2014.
At the Dome, the University of Chichester, Bognor Regis Campus, Upper Bognor Road, Bognor Regis, West Sussex PO21 IHR (parking is available at the rear of the campus).

Refreshments will be available from 5.30pm with the debate taking place between 6 - 7.30pm.

There will be an opportunity to network after the debate.

The panel:

Chair and Facilitator: Kerry Kyriacou, MDHUB
Kerry is a successful Business Adviser; coaching small & medium size businesses overcome the barriers to growth and achieve business excellence. He’s an accredited trainer for Leadership &
Management courses and for the last three years has also been facilitating peer to peer workgroups for the MDHUB.

Arguments for: Jen Smith, Jen Smith Social Media
Jen is a local social media coach and consultant with digital marketing experience across B2B, B2C and the charity sector. She’s worked with start ups, sole traders, SMEs and large corporate businesses and understands the marketing challenges facing businesses today. With a background in journalism and writing, Jen focuses on blogging, email and social media marketing and has a passion for teaching social media.

Objective View: Louise Hopkins, Recenseo
Louise‘s marketing experience has spanned nearly 20 years on both consumer and business levels in several sectors and, having chosen to specialise in marketing communications as a whole, her expertise covers all aspects of the marketing mix and how to integrate these marketing activities for optimum impact.

Arguments against: John Thacker, Clark Brownscombe Limited
John Thacker is a qualified Chartered Accountant and is a partner in Clark Brownscombe, a firm of accountants with offices in Hove and Lewes. John has worked for a number of accountancy firms including KPMG, and now acts for a wide range of businesses and organisations, In particular, in charities, start-ups and professional practices. John is an active member of MDHUB and reads very widely on a range of subjects including organisations, personal development, psychology and sociology.
