SiteVisibility gets involved in National Give & Gain Day
SiteVisibility was delighted to welcome two students from the University of Brighton to its offices during May 2015 as part of the Business in the Community Give & Gain Day. The students, Jermiah Monk, 19 and Sam Ingleston, 20 attended a 'Lunch and Learn' training session on Structured Data, hosted by Director of SEO Peter Phillpot, met with members of the team to learn more about their roles and enjoyed a pizza lunch. There were also invited to apply for the annual SiteVisibility Prize, which will see one student win a trophy and £100, and undertake a one year placement at the agency over the next 12 months.
The SiteVisibility prize has been awarded since the relationship between the company and the University first began over 10 years ago. Past winners have gone on to have great careers in digital marketing, including a Directorship at a digital agency, at IBM and fulfilling other influential roles in the industry.
SiteVisibility's involvement in the Give & Gain Day and its relationship with the University of Brighton highlights its ongoing commitment to engage and support the local community. This also includes its relationship with the Brighton Aldridge Community Academy (BACA), helping encourage local talent to learn about and consider the rapidly growing local digital economy for their future career.
Jason Woodford, CEO of SiteVisibility, said "digital skills shortages are an industry wide challenge and SiteVisibility is delighted to be able to do its bit to attract more talent into this exciting and evolving profession."
Sam Ingleston, 20, a second year Digital Media student at the University of Brighton explained what appeals to him most about the digital marketing field. He said, "I love SEO because you can never be a master of it, it's constantly evolving. You encounter something different every day and can never get bored!"
